Description of the Activity

The trip begins in New York, from where we will head north to Watkins Glen Canyon and its waterfalls. We will then continue on to Niagara Falls and spend the night in Canada. On the second day we will explore the Falls, and finish in the Thousand Islands.
On the third day we will cruise the Thousand Islands and visit an outlet mall. On the fourth day we will visit Philadelphia and the Amish culture in Lancaster. On the fifth day, the Thomas Jefferson Memorial and Arlington National Cemetery, among other sites in Washington DC.

What are we going to do?

Day 1

Early in the morning we will depart New York City for the north, where we will have the opportunity to drive across the scenic Delaware Gap to Watkins Glen State Park, located in the heart of the Finger Lakes region. Once there, we will hike through the spectacular Watkins Glen Canyon to admire its beautiful waterfalls.

Afterwards, we will continue our journey to the world famous Niagara Falls, passing by Seneca Lake, to arrive at our destination in the afternoon. We will enjoy a tour of the U.S. side of the falls, visiting places such as the American Falls, Goat Island and its twin island. In addition, we will have the opportunity to experience the power and magnificence of Niagara Falls aboard the Maid of the Mist.

In the evening we will stay at the Ramada by Wyndham, Canada. Where we will be able to admire the colorful night illumination of the falls.

Day 2

We begin our day enjoying the breathtaking beauty of Horse Shoe Falls, then continue exploring the charming town of Niagara on the lake.

We then head to Toronto, Canada’s thriving financial capital, where we will visit sites such as HTO Park, the Hockey Hall of Fame headquarters at Brookfield Place, City Hall and the historic Distillery District.

In the afternoon, we will depart east of Toronto, following the famous Lake Ontario, to reach the Thousand Islands area at sunset.

It is worth mentioning that in the month of April, depending on weather conditions, we may have the opportunity to stay at Niagara Falls overnight.

Lodging will be at the hotelGananoque -Comfort Inn. In April, at the Ramada by Wyndham.

Day 3

We will start the day enjoying a wonderful cruise through the beautiful Thousand Islands, along the majestic St. Lawrence River, which was navigated by the French explorer Jacques Cartier some 500 years ago. On our tour, we will be able to admire the luxurious homes of the rich and famous built on top of the private islands, such as the impressive Boldt Castle and Heart Island.

We will then continue our journey to New York, where we will enjoy an exciting shopping excursion at one of the largest outlet malls, where you can find the best deals on designer and brand name stores. At nightfall, we will return to New Jersey to rest.

Overnight at La Quinta Inn and Suites, Clifton, NJ.

Day 4

We will begin our day in New Jersey, where we will head to Pennsylvania to visit the city of brotherly love, Philadelphia.

Once in the historical area of Philadelphia, we will visit the famous Liberty Bell, one of the symbols of American freedom, the Plaza and Hall of the Constitution, and the Congress Hall. We will also explore Elfreth’s Alley, the nation’s oldest inhabited residential street, and we will enjoy an exciting scenic drive that will include the financial district, the Benjamin Franklin Parkway, the Historic Philadelphia and much more. Leaving Philadelphia, we will see the famous “Rocky Steps” and then head north to Lancaster County, home of the Amish community.

We will begin this interesting and fun tour in an authentic Amish car, touring the farms and learning how they live without the benefits of modern technology, such as electric lights, sewage, telephones and appliances. After getting to know this very different culture, we will learn how the Amish have adapted, incorporating technology to create farms that are self-sufficient and can make use of renewable energy resources. We will also visit the Amish market, where you can purchase creative handmade products made by the Amish.

In the afternoon, we will depart east to Washington DC, our next stop.

Overnight at Fairfield Inn and Suites Alexandria.

Day 5

We will begin the day with a visit to the impressive Thomas Jefferson Memorial, located in the Basin basin surrounded by the iconic Japanese cherry trees. Next, we will visit the historic Arlington National Cemetery, where we will witness the changing of the guard and see the Kennedy family mausoleum. We will continue our tour on Capitol Hill, where the Capitol, a majestic building that houses the two chambers of the U.S. Congress, is located.

The Capitol has a large dome in the center and two wings on each side, with the north wing corresponding to the Senate and the south wing to the House of Representatives. We will also visit the White House to understand the center of the U.S. government. We will then continue to the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History, as the Air and Space Museum is currently under renovation.

Finally, we will visit the Lincoln, Korea and Vietnam Memorials. In the afternoon, we will depart for New York, where we will arrive in the evening.

We recommend you to wear comfortable clothes, a hat and sunglasses because of the heat. We will carry water for all our customers. It is important to bring identification documents.

Our guide will take pictures in the places with the best views, so you don’t have to worry about the pictures, we will take them for you.
