Description of the Activity

The route varies slightly depending on whether it is summer or winter, both options are along the California coast. Both routes visit Santa Barbara and Solvang, and also include a visit to San Francisco on the second day. The Summer Route continues to Yosemite National Park, while the Winter Route visits Monterey and Hearst Castle before returning to Los Angeles at the end of the third day. Lodging on both routes varies depending on the places visited each day.

What are we going to do?

On the Summer Route, we will head north towards the breathtaking California coast. During the trip, we will make a first stop in Santa Barbara, where we will visit the site of a Spanish mission and learn about the importance of these religious missions for the development of the region. Afterwards, we will continue north to the charming Danish village of Solvang, where we can visit its stores and learn more about its culture.

Continuing our walk along the 17 Mile Walk, which is part of Route 1, we can enjoy spectacular views of the California coastline from a close-up perspective. After this experience, we will visit the city of Carmel, home of renowned actor Clint Eastwood. Here, we will have free time to stroll around and enjoy the surroundings before continuing our journey to Silicon Valley, where we will spend the night at the SpringHill Suites by Marriott Oakland Airport.

On the Winter Route, we will head north along the stunning California coastline to our first stop in Santa Barbara. We will begin our tour in the center of the city, on the famous “State Street Promenade“, where we can enjoy the exclusive stores and restaurants in a quiet atmosphere isolated from traffic. In addition, we will be able to admire the architectural beauty and enjoy the sights and sounds of this beautiful part of the city.

We will continue to the beaches of Santa Barbara and Stearns Pier, where we can “walk on the water” and enjoy the breathtaking views of the ocean. After this experience, we will visit the Spanish Mission of Santa Barbara, where we will learn about the importance of these religious posts in the development of the entire region.

We will then drive to Solvang, known as the “Danish capital of America”, a charming Danish community in the heart of California. Here, we can enjoy the Danish-style architecture while browsing the local stores and restaurants during our free time for lunch.

We will then continue north through Silicon Valley before arriving at our hotel, the SpringHill Suites by Marriott Oakland Airport, where we will spend the night.

Today we will visit San Francisco and appreciate why this city is considered one of the most beautiful in the world. We will begin our tour at the famous Fisherman’s Wharf, where we will board a cruise on the beautiful San Francisco Bay. During the tour, we will be able to enjoy the view of the Golden Gate Bridge and circle the historic Alcatraz Island.

After the cruise, we will return to Pier 39 for lunch before continuing our tour of the city’s iconic sites, including the Golden Gate Bridge, Union Square train station, Chinatown and Nob Hill. We will conclude our excursion with a panoramic view of the city from the Bay Bridge, before heading to our hotel in the afternoon.

On the Summer Route, we will stay at the Modesto Hotel, located in the city of Modesto.

On the Winter Route, accommodations will be at the Springhill Suites Oakland Airport.

Summer Route: Our route takes us through the fertile lands of the Joaquin Valley to the breathtaking Yosemite National Park, a vast 1,200 square mile area of forests, lakes and waterfalls located in the Sierra Nevada. We will make stops at highlights such as El Capitan, Bridal-Veil Falls and Half Dome, and then begin a hike from the Yosemite Visitor Center to Yosemite Falls, the highest waterfall in North America at 730 meters.

Winter Route: We begin by exploring Monterey with a visit to the picturesque waterfront and Cannery Row, before heading south to visit the famous Hearst Castle, built by newspaper magnate William Randolph Hearst. We will tour the impressive mansion filled with antiques and learn about its history and how it became a place of entertainment for the rich and famous in the first half of the 20th century. At the end of the day, we will return to Los Angeles, where our tour concludes.

We recommend you to wear comfortable clothes, a hat and sunglasses because of the heat. We will carry water for all our customers. It is important to bring identification documents.

Our guide will take pictures in the places with the best views, so you don’t have to worry about the pictures, we will take them for you.
